Cleaner eating

I visited Kira again this morning. I figured that I had been seeing her for diet advice for a year now and DRUM ROLL>>>> I lost 7 pounds........
After a whole year!!!

Good for me............ (groan)

What we are working on this week- Healthy Breakfasts, not just oatmeal.
-No more white flour, white rice, pasta, etc. I will still use white sugar for a while.
-Try to get more vegetables into my kids. Puree and hide it in my meals.

I think that I am going to start posting what I am doing dietwise. I don't know yet how it will look on the blog but I will work on it. Perhaps I will post new things that I am incorporating into my lifestyle in the effort to be 100% healthy, perhaps I will post things I am learning about how our bodies work or/and how I am greening up our lives.

  1. OHHHHH!!! I am SOOOO excited for you! Don't worry now about the past year... 7 pounds in 1 month is GREAT! Sounds like you may be on a role. Do you think it is a result of the new supplements you were taking? I so hope that you have amazing success with your new lifestyle changes.

    I know from experience that blogging about our health journey really helps to keep on track. I haven't blogged on my health blog for months and my eating is horrible. But I am trying... I went shopping today and got LOTS of fruits and veggies to make delectable salads and have committed to eating more greens and fruit. Thus more raw and not so much bread! :)

    Keep it up! I look forward to hearing more!

  2. Are you telling me to think of at as 7 pounds in the last month? That's an idea. You do know that in reality it was 7 slow to go pounds over the past 12 months. But I like that idea of just thinkin' of it as what I did this past month. Yeah, I'll take that idea.
    I feel that I am getting confused about all the info I am getting through books about healthy living. I want to post each new change I am making to kind of sort things out in my mind and to make it a bit of a way to keep myself accountable. Too bad I do not know how to add pages to blogs'cause then I would make a page just for the steps I took and keep adding to it as I succeed in more steps. Know what I mean?

  3. Yes, I know what you mean. But I wouldn't worry about it. I think this is just as well. The title still suits, right? All the day of my life doesn't only have to be about your scrapbooking, it should be able to be about anything. You could just change your introduction in the sidebar a bit to accommodate the health part.

    Anyway, Oops, I thought you meant 7 pounds in the last month! But still, that shouldn't make a difference. At least you didn't GAIN 7 pounds over the past year, right? And yes, I think you SHOULD just take one month at a time and not think about the whole year... easier said than done, I guess, but I'm sure it will help to encourage you more if you just look at the little successes rather than the whole picture, right?

    And blog away, I know how crazy confusing all the info. can be and maybe just talking/blogging it out will help you to figure out what is the best for you and your family.
